with their marketing efforts. Unlike ad agencies, HBN
has no built-in conflicts of interest, since we dont make money by
inducing you to spend more for display advertising. We try to come up
with the best marketing strategy and tools for you, at the best possible
prices. The program consists of the following components:
The
Message
This is the most critical
element of your marketing effort. We start with a set of standardized
messages. You choose the ones that you feel are most applicable to your
market and positioning strategy, and then we rewrite them to fit your
particular market needs. Once you have your message, this becomes the
basis of all your marketing efforts.

Media
These are the different ways you get
your message out to the public. They include brochures, web sites,
direct mail, and display advertising. The right media mix will depend on
your particular market and strategy. At the very least, every builder
should have a strong marketing brochure, and an effective web site.

These are typically
four to six page full color 8 ½ x 11 pieces, that cover your main
message areas and showcase your product.

explosion in web access, it is now mandatory for builders to be on the
web. HBN

sites that you can update and expand to keep pace with your changing

Corporate
Identity Materials
(letterhead, business cards,
signage etc.)
If
you are unhappy with your current graphic identity, HBN
can design a new logo, and send it to you for approval. If you
like the new logo, we can apply it to your communication
materials. We will revise the logo up to three times, based on
your input.

Supplemental
Marketing Materials
In addition to the primary marketing
media, every builder should have a range of supplemental marketing
materials. These can often be reproduced inexpensively, in one color,
but the design and message should be consistent with all your other
materials.
Since these materials often change, they should be produced on separate
pages that can be inserted into your primary marketing materials.

to participate in the HBN
Marketing Services
This program is designed to be
flexible. If you have a printer or graphic designer that you enjoy
working with, we can help you simply with the message and suggested
design. If you want HBN
to provide the complete marketing materials, including printing and
production, we can do that also. We provide a limited geographic
exclusivity, meaning that we will not provide marketing support for any
of your immediate competitors.
Marketing is only one factor in your ultimate success as a builder. You
also need to look at your product, your process, your pricing policies,
your land acquisition strategies, and your management practices. If you
