On The Level is a newsletter designed specifically for builders, contractors and remodelers. It is provided to builder customers free of charge as a service of your local lumber dealer. Our job is to pass on to you the insights we’ve obtained from years of experience in the building business. We help you eliminate the things that aren’t fun and concentrate on the ones that are. Your job is to take those ideas and apply them to your own business - and start having more fun and making more money. Sound fair?

On The Level is written by people with hands-on experience in the building business. Al Trellis, a custom builder from Columbia, MD, writes a monthly column. Al is a founder of Home Builders Network, author of six books on homebuilding, a columnist for Custom Home magazine and a former columnist for BUILDER magazine.

In addition, On The Level brings in guest columnists to provide their perspective on buying land, growing your business, finding new and better clients, negotiating with clients, managing subcontractors, handling paperwork, and the myriad details that go into a successful building business.
